Immerso nella verde Umbria, nei pressi di Città di Castello, sorge il complesso termale ed alberghiero di Fontecchio, situato all'interno di un grande parco secolare, ricco di sorgenti naturali, boschi e testimonianze di storia e cultura del passato. Già negli anni 80 d.C., Plinio il Giovane accompagnava la bellissima moglie Calpurnia ai "balnea" di Fontecchio per mantenere giovinezza e leggiadria.

Da allora numerosi sono i riferimenti storici alle terme in ogni epoca fino ad arrivare al 1860, anno cui risale l'attuale costruzione del nucleo più antico dello stabilimento termale eseguito su disegno del Calderini, al quale si sono aggiunti nel tempo numerosi ampliamenti: l'Hotel, le Piscine ed il Centro Benessere. Oggi le Terme offrono una vasta gamma di opportunità per chi cerca trattamenti specializzati ma estremamente naturali, o per chi desidera relax, fitness e recupero psico-fisico.

Le Terme di Fontecchio hanno appena inaugurato un'area completamente dedicata al benessere, fatta di colori, di luci e di musica; un ambiente rilassante ed accogliente per abbandonarsi ed allontanarsi dalla realtà quotidiana. Il Centro Benessere è il luogo ideale dove ritrovare il giusto rapporto con se stessi attraverso una nuova armonia con il proprio corpo: l'esperienza del massaggio, i trattamenti rilassanti agli oli essenziali, le nuove proposte termali, sono momenti da scoprire e sperimentare senza condizioni. Grande spazio è dedicato all'Oriente, da cui abbiamo attinto la secolare cultura del massaggio: massaggi ayurvedici, shirodhara, massaggio a quattro mani, hot stone, shiatsu, watsu e riflessoterapia al piede, ma anche massaggi classici, linfodrenanti e rilassanti. L'acqua solfurea ed i fanghi, uniti ad essenze ed aromi e ai nostri cosmetici termali, sono alla base di tutti i trattamenti che qui vengono praticati, per ritrovare la forma ideale del corpo e l'equilibrio della mente.   

  The Hotel and Spa ‘Fontecchio’ are beautifully set in an ancient wooded park which gently rises above Citta di Castello at the heart of Green Umbria. The park is full of ancient springs and trees, which recall it’s long history as a Spa. Objects of antiquity, relating to the Spa, abound within the park telling stories of long gone times.

It was around 80AD when Fontecchio was regularly visited by Pliny the Younger and his beautiful wife, Calpurnia. Nobles from ancient Rome flocked to Fontecchio to enjoy the waters and mud, which promised youth and longevity. There have been numerous mentions, throughout history, of the health giving properties of the Spa Fontecchio. In 1860 a beautiful building, designed by by Calderini, was established as the nucleus of what, is now, a complete modern centre of physical & mental well-being. Including a most comfortable Hotel, Restaurant and Pizzeria. All designed and furnished to the highest Italian standards.

The large space is dedicated to the Orient, from which we have learned the ancient culture of massaging: ayurveda, shirochara, fourhanded massaging, hot stone, shiatsu, watsu, foot massage, and also the classic massage: relaxing and lymphodraining. The sulphur water, the mud, essences and aromas, thermal cosmetics are the bases of all the treatments that we practice here, to refine the ideal formula for the body and mental balance.      

  Gelegen im gruenen Umbrien, in der Umgebung von Città di Castello, liegt die Therme und das Hotel von Fontecchio, eingebettet in einen grossen jahrhundertealten Park, reich an natuerlichen Quellen, Waeldern und Zeugnissen der vergangenen Geschichte und Kultur.

Schon im Jahre 80 n.Chr. begleitete Plinius der Junge seine schoene Gattin Calpurnia zu den “Baedern” von Fontecchio um Jugend und Anmut zu bewahren. Seitdem gibt es viele geschichtliche Hinweise in jeder Epoche bis zum Jahr 1860, dem Jahr als man die urspruengliche Konstruktion des antiken thermalen Ortes wiedererstehen liess, zugrunde legend die Zeichnung des Calderini. Man hat im Laufe der Zeit einige Erweiterungen vorgenommen: das Hotel, die Schwimmbaeder und das Centro Benessere.
