 La
tenuta si trova a circa 100 m sul livello del mare, a metà strada tra
Catania e Siracusa, sui primi rilievi collinari del bianco altopiano
Ibleo. A soli 8 Km lo splendido mare di Brucoli, ed altre località
balneari sono ancora più vicine. L’Azienda agricola si estende per oltre
100 ettari con un’estrema varietà di paesaggi; i verdi agrumeti si
alternano agli uliveti ed agli aridi pascoli siciliani, il profondo
vallone scavato dal fiume San Calogero ospita oltre a numerosi resti
archeologici risalenti alla civiltà Castellucciana (periodo pre-greco),un
delizioso boschetto spontaneo ricco di essenze mediterranee. Altra
importante attività produttiva, oltre a quelle agrumicola ed olearia, è
l’allevamento di cavalli da sella San Calogero, che ha dato numerose
soddisfazioni ai proprietari. Uno di questi, Zigolo di San Calogero, ha
partecipato alle olimpiadi di Atlanta. Circondati dal verde e
dall’agrumeto, gli appartamenti costruiti in stile rurale siciliano sono
molto vicini al maneggio ed alle scuderie. Sono arredati con mobili
d’epoca e possiedono tutti i comfort: ognuno di essi è provvisto di
bagno, cucina, televisione e riscaldamento.
The estate is located about 100 m above sea level, midway between
Catania and Siracusa, among the foothills of the white Ibleo plain. It
is only 8 km from the lovely sea at Brucoli, and even closer to other
seaside resorts. The farm covers an area of more than 100 hectares with
an incredible variation of landscapes: green citrus orchards alternate
with olive groves and arid Sicilian pastures; the deep valley carved by
the San Calogero river harbours numerous archaeological remains from the
Castellucciana civilization (pre-Greek period) and lovely natural woods
rich in Mediterranean scents. In addition to the production of citrus
fruits and olive oil, the breeding and raising of San Calogero riding
horses is another important activity at the estate, and it has brought
much satisfaction to the owners. One of the horses, Zigolo di San
Calogero, participated in the Olympic Games in Atlanta. Set among
vegetation and citrus orchards, the apartments have been built in rural
Sicilian style and are near the stables and riding ring. They are
furnished with period pieces and offer comforts: bathroom, kitchen,
television and heating.
L'agritourisme se trouve à 100 m. environ au-dessus du niveau de la mer,
à mi-chemin entre Catane et Syracuse, sur les premiers reliefs
collinaires du haut-plateau blanc Ibleo. A 8 km. seulement, la splendide
mer de Brucoli et d'autres localités balnéaires encore plus proches. La
ferme agricole s'étend sur plus de 100 hectares avec une extrême variété
de paysages. Les agrumes verts s'alternent avec les oliveraies et les
arides pâtures siciliennes; la profonde vallée creusée par le fleuve San
Calogero abrite un délicieux petit bois spontané plein d'essences
méditerranéennes, outre aux nombreuses ruines archéologiques remontant à
la civilisation Castellucciana (période préhellénique). A part les
agrumes et l'huile d'olive, l'autre activité productive importante est
l'élevage de chevaux de monte San Calogero qui a procuré de nombreuses
satisfactions aux propriétaires. Un des chevaux, Zigolo de San Calogero,
a participé aux olympiades d'Atlanta. Entourés de vert et d'agrumes, les
appartements construits en style rural sicilien sont très proches du
manège et des écuries. Aménagés avec des meubles d'époque, ils possèdent
tout confort: chacun est pourvu de salle de bains, cuisine, téléviseur
et chauffage.
