Proprio dove un tempo vegetavano rigogliosi i canneti, proprio di fronte la Chiesa della Madonna del Rosario si ergeva la torre della quale il paese di "Torre Archirafi" prende il nome di essa, restano soltanto frammenti delle fondamenta quadrate accessibili a chi voglia immergersi per un'escursione subacquea. Risalente al 1567 e sopravvissuta sino ai nostri giorni è la cosiddetta "Torre Modò" osservabile dal lungomare eretta per l'avvistamento delle navi turche che un tempo solcavano il mar Ionio con l'intento di devastanti e sanguinose incursioni sulle coste siciliane. Oggi, grazie anche a un bellissimo lungomare che collega a Riposto, Torre Archirafi è meta di villeggiatura balneare, ragione che ha consentito un rapido sviluppo dell'economia turistica basata sull'offerta gastronomica dei locali tipici che propongono il pesce fresco dello Ionio e le tante altre specialità di mare. Right where the cane-brakes used to grow up blooming, just opposite to the "Madonna del Rosario" church, a fine tower rose up, from which the whole village took its name of "Torre Archirafi". "Profumo
di Zagara" nasce dalle idee di un gruppo di giovani che sognano come la
Sicilia, terra di cultura, bellezza e scoperte infinite, possa diventare
il luogo dove rilassare la mente e lo spirito. Non potevamo scegliere un
luogo più appropriato: Torre Archirafi. 
The resort "Profumo di Zagara", located half way between Catania and the
lovely village of Taormina, was established by a group of young
Sicilians with the dream that Sicily, land of culture, history and
beauty, may become a place where people can find a sophisticated setting
to relax their minds and spirits. No others place but Torre Archirafi
could have been chosen more adequately.
